Founded in 2011, South East Contracting LLC (SEC) began as a full-service concrete

contracting firm under the leadership of Ray Smith. Over the past two decades, SEC has

experienced steady and substantial growth, evolving into a full-service General Contracting

firm capable of managing diverse and complex construction projects. Today, the company is

proudly operated by Ray Smith in partnership with his sons, Zach Smith and David Berry,

who continue to expand the firm’s vision, technical capabilities, and client relationships

across Kentucky and the surrounding region.

Through consistent performance, strong client partnerships, and a commitment to quality,

SEC has grown to employ 45 skilled professionals who bring expertise across all aspects of

general construction, project management, and self-performing capabilities. The firm’s

success is driven by a culture of accountability, craftsmanship, and responsiveness—values

that define every project we deliver.

South East Contracting LLC’s comprehensive resources include in-house project

management staff, field supervision, estimating, safety, and administrative support teams,

as well as a trusted network of prequalified subcontractors and suppliers. Our firm’s

resources, systems, and personnel enable SEC to deliver exceptional service, cost control,

and quality assurance on every project.

Ray established South East Contracting in 2011.

Ray started this company with himself and four employees providing concrete services to residential and commercial clients across the state of KY.
